Story & Atmosphere
Sekopi is a charming coffee haven tucked inside the Akademi Pariwisata complex on Jl. Tukad Balian, Renon, Denpasar. This spot is a refreshing retreat from the Bali heat, offering a cool and inviting atmosphere that effortlessly blends a cozy indoor setting with a semi-outdoor vibe. The space may be modest in size, accommodating around twenty guests indoors, but it feels spacious and welcoming, with plenty of seating options both inside and outside.
What truly sets Sekopi apart is its dedication to providing authentic Indonesian coffee experiences. The brews are affordable yet crafted with care, catering to both casual coffee lovers and connoisseurs alike. The iced latte here is a solid choice, paired nicely with their generous doughnuts loaded with chocolate sprinkles—a treat that might benefit from a bit more softness but still satisfying.
The ambience at Sekopi carries a relaxed, easy-going energy enhanced by live acoustic performances in the evenings, creating a perfect backdrop to linger until late, as they stay open until 1 AM. For those who need to catch up on work or study, the availability of Wi-Fi and charging plugs makes it a practical as well as pleasant stop.
One of Sekopi’s standout features is its pet-friendly policy. It’s a rare find in Denpasar, welcoming furry companions and adding a homely vibe that complements the good coffee and tasty eats. The parking space shared with the nearby school eases accessibility, though some small improvements, like providing trays for self pick-up orders, could enhance the overall customer convenience.
From fresh, warm toasted bread to the inviting music and spacious seating arrangements, Sekopi strikes a balance between a functional café and a comfortable social hub. The mix of friendly service, quality drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere makes it an excellent spot for friends to gather, students to work, or anyone seeking a moment’s respite with a great cup of Indonesian coffee in hand.
“ Cool space inside the Akademi Pariwisata complex. You can enjoy the prominent coffee of Indonesia origin, while taking cover from Denpasar heat. ”
“ Iced latte is ok Doughnut was quite big and had quite lots of chocolate sprinkles but too quite not soft Has parking lot and unique interior in the ambience ”
“ Good vibes, spacious, but if you do self pick up, at least provide a tray to make it easier for the customer to bring their drink, especially when they open the door. ”
“ Plenty of spots to sit in or out, good food choices, nice atmosphere with live acoustic at night, and open till 1 so you can just hang around. ”
“ A coffee shop located inside the campus area of Akpar Denpasar. I think the atmosphere isn't really good and the indoor area is pretty narrow (can only accommodate about 20 people). The specialty about this place is it's pet friendly. I met two cute puppies inside. There are rarely pet friendly coffee shop around Denpasar. Compared to Sekopi.Bypass, this one needs more improvement for their facilities, especially for the rest room. There is only one gender mixed rest room which is usually full all the time. ”
